Paul Loya Gallery is pleased to present a collection of works by Cheryl Louise Humphreys in her premier solo exhibition “I Just Have This Feeling…”
Humphreys is an emerging American contemporary artist whose education and career as a designer have played an integral role in her ability to communicate through the medium of paper. The artist’s blind embossings eschew the trappings of traditional printed work, leaving only shape and shadow visible in an effort to draw the viewer closer and create a quiet and intimate conversation.
In this exhibition, the artist explores the visual dialogue of communication in a digital age, questioning our current paradigms through matters of love, memory and an acute curiosity of the ever-evolving definition of connection.
Expanding upon the iconographic lexicon that characterizes her work, the artist now introduces color, optimism, and love in this collection in an honest and thoughtful attempt to re-sensitize and reconnect to the tangible.
